The Best Garment of All

The Best Garment of All

Rom 13:14.
”Rather clothe yourself with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the flesh.”

As we round up our study on spiritual garments, I would like to introduce you to the best garment you could ever put on: our Lord Jesus, also referred to as the armour of light.(Rom 13: 12).

To be clothed in Christ means to be clothed in the armoury of our Lord Jesus Christ. It is a full regalia!
Once you are clothed in Christ, you show forth, all the qualities that are in Him: compassion, kindness, humility, patience, forgiveness and most importantly love. (Col 3 :12-14.)

The Bible gives us compelling reasons why we should put on Christ Jesus as a garment:

— Because of the times we find ourselves in. (Rom 13:12)
These are evil times. The whole world is under a siege, the atmosphere is polluted and covid19 alone is a wake up call for us to put on Christ Jesus and not just a nose mask.

— Our Salvation is nearer than we first believed. (vrs 11b)
That means it won’t be long our Saviour will return to this earth to judge and save His own. The writings are already on the walls.

— The night is nearly over, the day is almost here. (Rom 13 :12).
It’s time to behave as children of light and put away the deeds of darkness such as carousing, immorality, dissension and jealousy.

Dear friend, the truth is that we are not in normal times, and our best protection is to wrap ourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ.

That means to draw intimately closer to Him in such a way that we reflect more of His nature in all our daily endeavours. The Bible says “as He is, so are we in this world.” (1John 4:17)

Put on the best garment today and enjoy all the graces that are in Him!
